For decades, I’ve been immersed in the world of automotive design—from sketching bold concepts to engineering dream cars that push boundaries. Through this journey, one thing has always remained clear: the future of design lies in the hands of the next generation. That’s why I’ve chosen to associate with Ajeenkya DY Patil University (ADYPU)—a forward-thinking institution that mirrors my vision for the future of mobility.

India is brimming with creative minds, but what most aspiring transportation designers need is the right environment, mentorship, and industry exposure. ADYPU provides exactly that—and more. Their Transportation Design program is not just another academic course. It’s a carefully crafted platform that combines creativity, technology, and real-world learning to shape students into global design professionals.

Why ADYPU?

In my search for a truly progressive design education space in India, ADYPU stood out for its bold approach to curriculum and commitment to hands-on learning. The School of Design at ADYPU is one of the few in India that provides students with access to state-of-the-art facilities, advanced design technologies, and a vibrant studio environment that fosters creativity and innovation.

What impressed me most was the university’s willingness to bring industry veterans like myself into the classroom—not just as guest lecturers, but as mentors, collaborators, and guides. That’s a rare commitment, and it convinced me that ADYPU isn’t just preparing students for jobs—they’re preparing them to lead.

My Role and Vision

My association with ADYPU goes beyond symbolic support. I will be actively involved in mentoring students, conducting workshops, design critiques, and sharing insights from my decades of experience building one of India’s most iconic automotive design brands.

The idea is to give students real exposure to the way automotive design works—how concepts are born, refined, engineered, and finally brought to life. From live projects to studio visits and collaborative brainstorming, I want students to feel the pulse of the industry while they’re still learning.

This is how real design education should be—immersive, inspiring, and industry-integrated.

Creating the Designers of Tomorrow

Transportation design is more than just drawing cars. It’s about understanding mobility, user behavior, sustainability, and the future of how we move. ADYPU’s program integrates all these aspects, preparing students for careers in automotive, electric mobility, aviation, and even autonomous systems.

I’ve always believed that Indian designers have the potential to make a global impact—what they need is direction and opportunity. With ADYPU’s support, I’m excited to help turn raw talent into skilled professionals who can shape the future of mobility both in India and internationally.
